America You Be The Judge As to Whether the So-Called “Terrorism Expert” Steve Emerson:

-         Collaborated with the Israeli Consular Office in Boston to deny American-Muslims their fundamental rights to build a house of worship by participating in a “backdoor smear campaign” -         Applied 1960’s- Era segregationist tactics, often used against Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other civil-rights organizations, to divide Christians, Muslims and Jews. These tactics include providing information and reports that contain false accusations and perpetuate fear-mongering against American-Muslims by portraying them as a 5th Column, disloyal and anti-American.

-          Emerson’s reports to the media, the Congress and law enforcement agencies are tainted by the agenda of a foreign government, as evidenced from the email communications, and their references to him providing informational assistance in their negative campaign. -         Emerson could very well be the American domestic Curveball (a reference to the Iraqi source Codename Curveball) who provided inaccurate information to the US Intelligence Services leading up to the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.  Many of his reports are factually inaccurate, misleading and taken selectively out of context to misrepresent facts.

America, you should judge whether or not Steve Emerson collaborated with the Boston Consulate of the State of Israel, and others, in an attempt to undermine the constitutional right of US Citizens to exercise their freedom of worship.

Have you ever suspected that your campus may be little more than the intellectual equivalent of an Al Qaeda training camp, dutifully churning out youthful armies of Osama Bin Laden-hugging, America-hating traitors? Well, fear not. Pundit and right-wing crusader Daniel Pipes is keeping an eye on your university and the treasonous activity percolating therein. Thanks to Pipes and his website, Campus Watch, you can rest assured in the knowledge that someone is working to bring your subversive, un-American professors/terrorists to justice, Joe McCarthy-style, and to replace their indoctrination sessions with a curriculum as fair and balanced as FOX News.

 

Pipes’ nostalgia for the Cold War may be hereditary. His father, Harvard historian Richard Pipes, headed Team B, a group of extremely hawkish analysts devoted to studying Soviet military and political strategies. A Boston native, Daniel Pipes enrolled at Harvard, where his father was still teaching, in 1967, to study mathematics. Unfortunately, the abstract world of numbers went over his head. “I wasn’t smart enough,” Pipes confessed, “so I chose to become a historian.” While his classmates staged sit-ins in the Harvard administration building to protest the Vietnam War, he wondered why anyone would walk out of classes or miss meals they had already paid for.

 

Upon earning his B.A. in history, Pipes spent two years studying Arabic in Cairo, and then returned to Harvard to begin working on his Ph.D. in medieval Islamic history. In the late ’70s and early ’80s, in the wake of the Iranian Revolution and the assassination of Anwar Sadat by an Islamist militant, he abandoned his initial interests and became obsessed with radical Islam

Paul Kendall: Did an ‘Expert’ on Terrorism Conspire With a Foreign Government to Violate the Constitutional Rights of American Muslims?

WASHINGTON, March 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The following is an Op-Ed by Paul Kendall, of Justice and Liberty For All:

 

Steven Emerson, who has appeared at numerous congressional hearings and on major news outlets as an alleged ‘expert on terrorism,’ has raised some serious concerns among congressional staffers, civil rights groups, and some members of the media.

 

E-mail communications made available during lawsuits involving the building of a mosque in Boston, MA (Boston Lawsuit - ISB David Project), indicate a collaboration between Emerson and the Israeli Government. These electronic communications prove that Emerson, along with some anti-Muslim advocacy groups, worked directly with the public affairs office of the Israeli consulate in Boston to formulate the creation of a smear campaign intended to stop the construction of a new Islamic cultural center.

 

However, despite these attempts, the new Boston mosque was opened

 

on September 28, 2007 in the predominantly African-American community of Roxbury.

Emerson, whose credentials, investigative methods, and sources were once considered to be highly questionable, has managed to position himself as America’s leading ‘terrorist expert’ after 9/11. However, there are many within and outside the Muslim Community who question Emerson’s investigation tactics, characterized as ‘Islamophobic.’

 

Some have accused Emerson of pandering to fear because of his characterization of the Muslim American community, Muslim organizations, and Muslim leaders as a ‘fifth column’ working to subvert the American government and our civil institutions. Many have gone so far as to suggest that his motives have less to do with protecting our national security than with being a paid propagandist for a foreign country.

 

One congressional staff member stated, "I am seriously troubled that the public affairs office of the Israeli Consulate would cooperate with U.S. citizens and advocacy groups seeking to deny American Muslim’s the religious freedom of American Muslims.

 

The constitutional right to build a new mosque in Boston is a religious freedom protected by the First Amendment of our Constitution. And no foreign government has the right to interfere with this right.’

 

Interviews with several civil rights activists reveal that there are serious concerns regarding the accuracy and objectivity of the information that Emerson provides to members of congress, law enforcement, and the media.

 

Civil rights activist and leader Reverend Graylan Hagler, put it this way: "This Emerson guy uses the same tactics that racist segregationist used against civil rights activist including Dr. King."

 

Hagler added, "Emerson may well be our domestic ‘curve ball.’" This is a reference to the Iraqi source that provided inaccurate information to U.S. intelligence services in the lead-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

 

I, too, am deeply troubled by the lack of scrutiny that Steve Emerson and his Investigative Project receive. If the nation learned anything from the Judith Miller fiasco about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, it should be this: It is time to seriously investigate Steve Emerson and his bogus ‘Investigative Project.’
